melvyn_poolman Posted December 12, 2004 Posted December 12, 2004 Cool glad you like it,Hope all goes well with the install Mel
Montythegod Posted December 13, 2004 Author Posted December 13, 2004 No probs Mel.... well the engine is back in and 90% connected up to the point I can start it.... Put the key in the ignition. Turned it. and it started on the button, no engine warning light ............ but ! a weird squealing noise is coming from the back of the engine, looks like gearbox / clutch / turbo area too late (7 pm ) to be arsed to look at it, taken all day from 11am to get it all in, so pack up for the night. I am hoping it is a small flywheel plate on the bottom of the bellhousing that was a little bent when I took it off and tried the straighten it, fingers crossed till wednesday now....
Montythegod Posted December 15, 2004 Author Posted December 15, 2004 Update ****** Up early, having the advantage of daylight I went out and started her up agin.... big sparks flying out from underneath !! but its and easy fix.. the sh17plate on the bottom of the bellhousing got slightly crushed when putting it back in ! Jack up engine, remove straighten and replace Noise gone..... Put everything backtogether topped up with antifreeze and took it out for a tear !! MOT booked 2mora, tested everything and washer bottle motor knackered.... 36quid for a new one from subaru. Now what have i got in the garage .... oh look a ford escort one.... it only fits ! Powered by subaru assisted by Ford,, lol
Montythegod Posted December 19, 2004 Author Posted December 19, 2004 with flying colours... the only advise on the MOT was in big letters NOISY SPORTS EXHAUST !
