mark_sheepwash Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 I stick to the manual and that tells me 33 on front and 32 on rear - WRX Wagon Cheers Sheepie
The Guru Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 Experiment with different presures from 28 to 34 psi, you will then find a happy medium that suits your driving, I use 33 psi all round. Arron.
sam7 Posted October 21, 2004 Author Posted October 21, 2004 hi arron im at the point where i think my rear springs are shot when you load your car up ,and i mean 4 up ,full tank and luggage does it rub on the rear because mine does with 28 - 32 unladen it feels very stiff and safe now i am replacing the rubbers on the back bar like you said can i get stiffer spring but not lower it ,if so which make come in best thanks inadvance
mark_sheepwash Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 Doesn't sound good sam - back in september there were 4 of us (totalling 70 odd stone!!!) plus a roof box that had 10 stone in it and it was no problem at all - even doing 3 figures down the autobahn........... Not sure as to what springs but plenty of scooby websites out there or someone on here I'm sure could help Cheers
M25 FLYER Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 Whats your tyre size as i've been through this recently, you really need to have a 40 profile tyre with a 215 tread width. Anything bigger/wider will touch on the rear arch when loaded or cornering ,as i said been there, done that and worn the T shirt.
sam7 Posted October 22, 2004 Author Posted October 22, 2004 hi there yes i'm running 45's and i think thats the problem really i didn't think it would make a big diffrence but there you go you live and learn don't ya i got these off tim (coolhand ) for a song so begger couldn't be chooser's at the time but when i renew the rubber i will get 40s thanks for the post peeps guess i will have to drive slower for 6 months ........NOT
mark_sheepwash Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 215/45/R17's on mine.........................

M25 FLYER Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 New age 17s as standard hence no rubbing,Classics 16s as standard hence your tyres rubbing on the rear arches...
