Torch WRX Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 was looking at getting a decent scoob from this place and had a very pleasant chat with the owner and discussed a few options to buy (altho they are very overpriced) 12k for a 93 classic!!!! anyhow at no way during this conversation did i say that i was definetely going to go ahead with a purchase at least not until i checked my finances and whether or not i could afford it after a few messages on the answering machine from indy cars they told me they had passed my current cars details which i was going to use as a px onto another customer who was looking to buy (which they had no right to do, not until i had agreed a purchase) after some emails back and forth i had decided it was going to cost too much and i would be better off buying privately his response was this "If you were always unable to increase your financial exposure, I cannot understand why you would invest your time, as well as mine, in a situation that would never have a satisfactory conclusion. It doesn't make any sense, plus it shows a lack of respect for other people involved" after i explained that i needed to save money in order to buy my dads headstone (he died last year) he then replied with this "My comments were in no way sarcastic. The facts surrounding your circumstances, with regard to your loss, didn't change at all over the last week. Congratulations on being yet another time waster" this post is just an insight as to the kind of person that runs this place, i know he has a LOT of scoobys but his attitude can change very quickly if he doesnt get his way
wrxmania Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Like many car dealers. I think the language of his emails was annoyed but not overly offensive. He's obviously had a bad day - chalk it up to experience.
DEVLIN Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Torch , you shouldnt have explained yourself to this geezer. What was all the big sentences about , he,s only a car salesman , not a bloody dictator.
Torch WRX Posted September 25, 2004 Author Posted September 25, 2004 yeah, its just the complete and utter lack of sympathy that i cant fathom however he'll get no business from me thanx to his snappy attitude
halo Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 I have heard a few things similar mate this one isnt just down to experience its down to the place you went. I enquired about a scoob there and it was 14k for a 94 - just basically got rudeness, in the meantime my post on another forum asking what they were like got removed because of the responses Have u given up searching ? Try JVS or even newera - im going through newera just now and I can safely say its the best service I HAVE EVER HAD !! - they have a nice sti in just now worth a look its well under 10 k and Miguel is a complete star !
MikeABZ Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 it would not have been a bad day - that is the owners mentallity. He cannot be bothered - if you don't buy then you are a timewaster. Nice attitude. Not. And yes his cars have always been WAY over priced.
robinh20mrv Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 hi m8, i heard this about this guy b4 cheers robin.
CAZ1562 Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 I bought my car from this guy. I found his sales technique slightly off putting but I wanted the car, plus he offered a reasonable getout clause for me to get rid of my old car & include the finance otherwise I'd been up the Clyde on a Tea biscuit. He never talks cash and his tact on selling/viewing/test driving is cr@p IMHO. He has a NO TIMEWASTERS/NO TEST PILOTS type stance. So I know where you're coming from Jamie
rossyboy Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 I bought mine from there as well. I would imagine there are a hell of a lot of dreamers that go there and wind him up. Definitely doesn't have a good attitude towards genuine interest until you sign on the dotted line. The cars are way over-priced but he buys most of them standard and spends thousands modifying them. I bought mine off him standard and it was priced more than average, but not overly excessive. Has been a great car as well to be fair.
Torch WRX Posted September 26, 2004 Author Posted September 26, 2004 thanx guys no havent stopped looking, theres a few places down in glasgow that look promising and also priv8 sales i want to find the right one that doesnt need much done around the engine ill find one soon enough
halo Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Have you seen this ? newera scoob I know its one hell of a way to travel down to Canterbury but im doing it in Nov when my skyline is ready - looks a good example too Good luck either way mate and hang in there its a buyers market and people with sh&t attitudes to customers dont stand up in the market TBH. These days I walk if I get anything other than genuine helpful attitude which im glad to say there is in newera
