scuba dou Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 Can anyone help guide a friend of mine. Young lad with BSc (Hons) in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. Wants to get a start with ROV Company in ABZ. Lives south of the City.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 Jools, Here's some good info on SubSea7's graduate recruitment http://www.subsea7.com/subsea_recr_grad.php and tell him to have a wee sniff in here too http://www.fugro-udi.co.uk/ SS7 is probably the best bet - i think their personnel manager for ROV's is a chap called Mark Elder - maybe best to call him direct ? Cheers Cal
chris_aberdeen Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 I think he may have missed the graduate recruitment with the bigger ROV companies this year. They generally recruitment between March and July and have new graduates starting in August/September. I agree with Cal. Subsea 7 would probably be his best bet as they recruit alot of engineering graduates each year. I was offered a job in the Remote Technologies Group but decided against it as I wasn't really interested in ROVs. The guy that is head of SS7 graduate recruitment is Andy Canavan (if I remember correctly Your friend would be best to give the Greenwell base a ring and ask if he is still with the company and get this email address to fire of his CV.
Boyakasha Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 Hold Fire on the Subsea 7 side of things, I'm on the case. Jools I have sent an e-mail to our Offshore Personnel Manager and I'll let you know what the score is when he gets back to me. Regards Marc

Boyakasha Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 Sarah unfortunately since the division between IRT and S7 Andy doesn't have anything to do the IRT side of things. I have contacted Colin G as he is the man who deals with all employment. M
