DEVLIN Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Wullie , Im sure if the Type R guys n gals can offer anything in the way of pressies n cash they,d be more than welcome. Even if it means they tag along in our Scoobies if we want to keep it a strict Scooby day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WRC No 1 Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Yes i agree to the donating of presents etc but they will need to contact me for a donation sheet! I've got no problem of them coming along but i just thought it was a Santa Cruise for Subaru's if they wish to tag along then the more the merrier. If any of the Type R guys want to come then they should come to some of the meetings this weekend and next thursday. (Wullie & Claire)
DEVLIN Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 It still can only be for Scoobies , weve all got 5 seats in our cars at the end of the day and - THE MORE THE MERRIER !!!!!!!!!!!!!! We need the collecting power for pressies n cash.
stephen_fergus2 Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 True .. I agree with Wullie , I do feel strongly that this IS a Scooby Event and should be kept that way , and think the impact of a group of Scoobs would be lessened if other cars turned up ( NO DISRESPECT WHATSOEVER TO ANY OTHER CAR CLUB OR OWNER ) . Plus , it will be appearing in True Grip mag ..wouldn't look right ! I do agree tho with any donations of presents or cash of course , Steve
wrxmania Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Subaru Santa Crusie it is, organised through SIDC - do any of the other regions have other clubs involved? Good idea involving other clubs for certain charity based events but I understood this to be, like it has elsewhere in the past, to be a Subaru event. Again, like Stevo, no disrespect to other clubs or owners. Brian
scoobymadburd Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Hi Me and WRC No 1 meant no disrespect to other car clubs either. Obviously if other car clubs wish to give donations or presents then all is welcome with open arms, it is for the kids. Lets get the presents rolling in and the names of more drivers down on the sheet of who can attend on the 12th of December. Claire
scoobymadburd Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Well done people for talking to subaru places keep up the good work and keep the donations rolling in!!!!! Claire
dougster Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 You don't have to own a Subaru to be in the SIDC. I might not have one by then but possibly be in a Type-R. (heaven forbid that appears in True Grip ) Shall we tell all Scottish Elises who make up the numbers at our KH track-day (and many of whom are SIDC members) not to get involved as well? I'm sure some of the kids will be delighted even if the pressies arrive in a Toyota YARIS!! (sorry Dave!! ) The more the merrier IMHO.
scoobymadburd Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Stiks I touch goats Thank you for your interest and help Claire
GaryS Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 sounds like things are progressing well... glad to see it.... If anyone bids and wins in the auction ( in the Santa Cruise forum) the payment will go to the regional cruise of the winners choice. 2 things to think about. 1: access to the kiddies, it should only be under staff/parent supervision, it's a sad reflection of the world we live in, but keep it in mind. 2: Photos.....many hospitals will not allow pics of the kids in their care to be taken, again, with parental permission you'll be OK. as for rides??? get the hospital to get the parents in that day and then suggest to the relevant "DAD" that lil billy might want a ride in a scooby and HE CAN COME TOO, and you'll be fine Claire - I touch goats ref banner...

phil Posted October 16, 2004 Posted October 16, 2004 Santa Cruise is a Charitable Event Organised by the SIDC Members I would consider it a compliment if other car Clubs/Drivers want to attend and I certainly wouldn't be upset seeing a type R in True Grip

billyboy Posted October 18, 2004 Author Posted October 18, 2004 while i agree that any car club is welcome to contribute to the santa cruise, yorkhill has limited car parkink space and a permenant way has to be left for ambulances to get to casualty.

dougster Posted October 19, 2004 Posted October 19, 2004 Billy, PM about what? I have stated before and will do so again, that due to personal circumstances I will be unable to attend any meets in the near future. Why are people getting so wound up? It only takes a handful of you to organise this, and the ones that are, are doing a fine job!!! Keep it up!!!
corsa Posted October 20, 2004 Posted October 20, 2004 Just in case anybody is interested Big W are selling Santa suits for a tenner!!!
