Carl Davey Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Starter for ten... Stuck a black background behind it so you can make out the white.
Carl Davey Posted September 2, 2004 Author Posted September 2, 2004 Tidied a little and with the silver/chrome writing as requested. Struggling to find a decent quality SIDC logo to incorporate though. Just to add that the design above is availble in a full-size .jpg/.psd file. Circa 8.5" wide by 2" high and saved at 300 pixels/inch. Any comments?
Smiddy Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 good idead about the username maybe use ScottishScoobies.com instead of .co.uk? the chrome is a nice effect personally, i prefer it without the dash infront of the username. maybe align the username with the middle of the saltire? good starting point
Carl Davey Posted September 2, 2004 Author Posted September 2, 2004 Your wish is my command. Also, in the full res version there is a small black border around the Saltire - this is lost when i shrink the image down though.
CAZ1562 Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Here's the window stickers I have on the car
phil Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 I have artwork but it is at home I can send it to who ever tonight
scuba dou Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Carl, Don?t mean to be pedantic, but what about the WWW bit. Makes it real obvious that it is a web site, and that the cars that have them are part of a club, so to speak. Also what about putting a name in?like WRXMAINA to give it a better feel. Brian will be proud Don?t know your sizes, but we made this type of thing up for the run to Yorkshire in 03 and having the flag discrete is often best. What I mean by that is getting the balance right is going to be the important bit. We are Scottish, and damn proud of it. Everywhere I have travelled within this small word both with work and play I have taken and worn my Kilt, Rugby shirt and often my stomping boots too. What I am trying to say I guess is that for this application first of all we are part of the SIDC, a UK based car club, then we are the Scottish group within the UK club, not some break away affiliation. Hope this come across as intended. I for one don?t want to arrive somewhere with our cars, you know almost with our Bravehart face paint on, leaving everyone to conclude ?here comes the bloody Jock?s?. I sensed this feeling across the road, which as we all know was certainly not the case; we are just geographically smaller and can run a Scottish forum with no hassles at all with all the different aspects within that forum and not having things moved everywhere else. Moral of my story is I would like to see SIDC being the main feature along with the web address, then the user name and a smart St Andrews flag showing our Scottish origins.
scuba dou Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Ahhh I got called away while writing the reply Perfect from Caz, A picture tells thousand words or something like that. Imagine the stickers Caz has with the WWW bit along the bottom, wouldn?t that work, all made up together. Then it could become a template for other groups within the club to use with their logo instead of a flag.
Bladerider Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Something like picture above with the Scottishscoobies web address underneath. Very simple and straight to the point. Although I would prefer the username at the left, SIDC logo at the right.
Carl Davey Posted September 2, 2004 Author Posted September 2, 2004 Jools, thanks for the comments. I agree, the sticker should be more of an SIDC sticker rather than a Scottish sticker if you know what i mean? I feel the same but had held off using an SIDC logo until i got a decent sized one to work with. Never the less i nicked the one off of the front page of the site for a test run. The SIDC logo was teeny-weeny to begin with so the quality is poor in the image above. That design above is 12x2". Again, thoughts etc?
phil Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 The ones on Dereks car are produced down sarf 2 options Like Dereks external sticking in silver SIDC or internal Blue SIDC like GaryS's I'm sure we could add the URL under the sticker These come in pairs and are "handed" i.e. look the same each side of the car The group buy's I have done for these are for a minimum of 15 pairs the cost £9.00 I would need to check whether there would be an additional charge for adding the URL but doubt it
scuba dou Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Carl, U are the man?some terrific work Looks great; that on a clear background would look terrific, well at least I think so (I know you are using the black to make it clear for demonstration purposes) Now what does everyone else think . Where?s Phil & co
willie Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Phil I have a man here in Scotland who is happy to do it for that. I think it is only right that we have a scottish thing produced locally
Carl Davey Posted September 2, 2004 Author Posted September 2, 2004 Yeah Jools, the black doesn't help things... The ones above are 12x1.5" now. A little longer looking on here though because i still shrunk them to 100px in height.
Bladerider Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Looks good. Put my name down for a set please. Cheers!
phil Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 << Ach well, two more anyway... >> They actually look cool Might have one myself
CAZ1562 Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Jools - The SIDC badge on my stickers have the www.sidc.co.uk plus Subaru Impreza Drivers Club written in the opposite corner.
Stiks Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 I love it ... apart from the Wrxmania bit...but thats just personal. I'll have two sets - one for the scoob, one for the wifes Focus Stiks
scuba dou Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Derek, well copied. I was meaning the ScottishScoobies bit when I talked about web address....as it does look as bits I?ll be having a couple of sets for inside the window please when we go to print Well done Carl
Stiks Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Carl, How much and when do you think they'll be available ? ( small boy waiting for Christmas voice!) Keith
Carl Davey Posted September 2, 2004 Author Posted September 2, 2004 lol, i'm just the wannabee geek who's cr@p at Photoshop... If Phil gets the full-size SIDC graphics over to me this evening i'll get a final version made up tonight. I'll then mail the full size .psd file over to Wille and he can then talk with his print supplier about having them made up and take care of supplying them etc etc.
