Manx Thanks

You will probably know if you were on the SIDC Manx Birthday Bash last weekend our Scooby decided to deposit the contents of the sump on the road going through St Johns on Thursday night. Further investigations led to a crankshaft oil being the cause and it was immediately apparent that the car was going nowhere for the rest of the weekend.

As you can imagine Debbie and I thought that was it and there was no way we could enjoy the event, how wrong we were!

We would like to thank everyone for their help, don?t want to start mentioning names because we will most defiantly forget somebody.

We were towed back to the Hilton with Scooby?s keeping guard front and rear, the Manx people must of wondered what we were playing at, 30MPH and holding all the traffic up!

All weekend people were offering us rides round the island in their cars, we could have sampled the whole Subaru range and missed none of the activities barring the actual driving.

The organisation of the trip was amazing, huge thanks to the FAD team for all their hard work and of course everyone at SIDC.

Thanks all of you for the tow back to the hotel, the use of and offers of the use of your passenger seats both on road and track, technical advise on the car and the Manx lady for the water to put out the oil fire!

If you were not there you should have been because you missed out on the weekend of a lifetime, superb roads, fantastic food, a few drinks, ok quite a few drinks and exceptionally good company, what more can anyone wish for!

We WILL be back, hopefully next year with SIDC and team FAD, Scooby has unfinished business with those roads and we can?t wait to see you all again.

Thanks to all of you involved in any way with the Birthday Bash.

God, what an awful thing to happen, especially going to an event as prestigious as that. I'm sure you'll go back next year and enjoy. I wished I could have attended this event too. As they say, there's always a next time.

Hope the wheels are back repaired and you're mobile again.
