derek_robertson Posted September 4, 2004 Author Posted September 4, 2004 Come on Peeps,GET YER NAME DOON!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a cracking rally to watch with over a 100 cars taking part including 27 IMPREZAS,several of them WRC's & 1 ex. "SOLBERG 03 CHAMPIONSHIP WINNING CAR" There are 9 different championships running together on the same day.The rally starts from Newton Stewart at approx.10.00am,first stage is normally around 10.30.Will post stage Names, No's & times when I get them. Most of the stages will be in the Galloway Forest area. cheers Del
derek_robertson Posted September 9, 2004 Author Posted September 9, 2004 Some stage info folks 10h01: Start Riverside Car Park, Newton Stewart 10h27: SS1 Borgan, 4.15 miles; 10h46: SS2 Glentrool, 14.07 miles; 13h18: SS3 Burnfoot, 4.62 miles; 13h30: SS4 Barneywater, 6.39 miles; 14h09: SS5 Black Loch, 15.61 miles; 14h56: Finish Riverside Car Park, Newton Stewart I would recommend Glentrool, which is around 7 miles north west of Newton Stewart. Take the A714 to Barrhill / Girvan. At Bargrennan take side road right past Glentrool village and the forest is north of the village with various accesses off the unclassified road. In addition to the times noted above (which are for the National 'B' event) the National 'A' competitors will return to do Glentrool a second time from 4:26pm. I wouldn't recommend trying to spectate in Borgan, Burnfoot or Barney Water. Black Loch is the only other stage I would recommend, but note that it is only visited once by both National 'A' and National 'B' competitors. It is a few miles to the north east of Newton Stewart off the A712 New Galloway road. Sorry I don't have any map references as yet, still nothing on SRC website, should be some in Motorsportnews on thursday/friday. Are you still going Grant? Spoke to a few interested parties at Ayrshire Meet tonight, main question asked was "how much to get in?" It's normally free entry to the stages although some of the forestry carparks are run by local groups/charities and carry a small donation roughly no more than a fiver per car Del
