K5NNV Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Any of you knowledgeable gentlemen out there know if it is possible to buy gold touchup paint for scoob alloys? and if so WHERE?
Gordon Shek Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 I think everyone's been after this touch up paint but I'm afraid it doesn't exist. I contacted my local Subaru dealer and they phoned up IM and they hadn't a clue. Dealers also phoned up Prodrive and they said they don't have the paint code or any sort of touch up paint. Best bet is to refurb them all at a local painters and ask them t match the paint.
scuba dou Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Ditto what Gordon is saying here. I traced the Prodrive 18? wheels in Bright Flitter and Gold all the way back to Italy where they are made to try and get a paint code after getting no joy with IM and Prodrive. Ended up at the local paint shop and matched the paint. Bad deal really how hard would it be for IM or Prodrive to produce the right touch paint for us
tannan Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 go to a place called spray stores and thay will get the paint match for you . thay ave a computer that dose it you need to take the car . as thay will put the computer up against the alloys to get the code. hope this helps
K5NNV Posted September 1, 2004 Author Posted September 1, 2004 Thanks for the info, guys. Really just as I expected,my local dealer looked at me as if I had horns growing out of my head.
wrxmania Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 Derek at A F Nobles bodyshop said they had paint for the anthracite colour of the Blobeye WRX wheels they had made up but had run out. I would ask if they or similar could make it up - certainly the touch up paint I got from Derek for the car was made up by them/hand labelled etc. Brian
Stiks Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Brian, If K5NNV is who I think he is then Nobles are the dealer in question who were unable to assist. Keith
wrxmania Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 No surprise there - must have asked the moody man at the desk - if you know who I mean Brian
