db scoob
My WRXs clock does not work. I noticed from the paperwork that came with it there was a quote for a new clock at around £50 which seems pretty steep. Any tips on how to repair or replace it without having to resort to this? Link to comment
ccrien
Hi, There's a post 9 March 2010 in the technical section, suggests re soldering pin 501 on the circuit board on the back of the clock. I have also read something, a good little article/ posting in the past on the web but can't remember where, with pics showing how to remove the clock and pics of resoldering dodgy connections on the back of the clock, remember it was a half hour job maximum. Will try to find the link sometime ( but don't hold your breath for it). Hope this helps , if your handy with a soldering iron I am sure you will sort it. Cheers Link to comment
db scoob
Thanks for the advice - we do have a soldering iron somewhere so could give that a go. That was really helpful, will let you know. Link to comment
db scoob
Hello there. Result! Your suggestion was spot on, problem solved. The resistor 501 had a dry joint so we resoldered (thanks to my late dads soldering iron) and the clock now works perfectly. Thanks again. Link to comment
