Bit Of A Cleanup For New Engine

Recommended Posts

Cool I'll be following this one, I'm looking at a rebuild with a possible stroker kit for my aging MY98 turbo wagon - but thats when and if it finally blows up. Do you know what the cause of the failures was?

Cheers,

Col

Yeah the turbo pressurised the crankcase and basically blew it wide apart streching all the bolts and destoying the crank a set of forged pistons. Its an my01 classic wagon ive had it for years and never had any trouble with it until this, was rebuilt at 66k after big end failure and 123k decided to go again.

Wow that sounds like the dream car, feed with oil and water and have fun with it :)

Mine has been kind of similar, I've done a wee article due to go in to True Grip with a history of broken parts, I think by now now mine has almost been replaced with new parts, some with a bit of help along the way :)

Is it like Triggers brush from Only Fools? Still the same brush he is using from the day he started road sweeping 20 years ago. All its had is 7 new handles and 12 new heads :-)

Lol yeah pretty much, it's a blue classic wagon on the outside bit a lot of the inside bits are replaced/fixed/upgraded but it's still a blue wagon tho :)

Its been great, really easy going until this year its been a gearbox and now engine 2 lol

Well if the engine and gearbox have now been done, then the rest must be sure to follow :)

I started on the odd one or two mods and now it's a frankenwagon :)
