Issue: 22nd June 2012 Use: Road casualty information prompts new sites for safety camera deployment In response to casualty and collision information Northern Safety Camera Partnership begin deployment on three additional sites in the Scottish Highlands. The safety camera mobile unit will routinely visit the following sites from this month (June 2012):- Site location Collision history: A9 Skiach Junction - Broomfield, Ross-shire 2009 2010 2011 Killed/seriously injured 0 2 1 Slight injury 3 4 5 A830 Fort William – Mallaig Road, Lochaber 2009 2010 2011 Killed/seriously injured 0 0 2 Slight injury 1 2 1 A86 Spean Bridge – Murlagan, Lochaber 2009 2010 2011 Killed/seriously injured 2 0 2 Slight injury 6 2 6 Partnership Manager, Dougie Bennion said: “We aim to encourage drivers to slow down by deploying our highly visible mobile units on these additional roads. Our intention is to help reduce the number and severity of road casualties in the Scottish Highlands.”
