Jolly Green Monster Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 (edited) I hope it gave a good account of itself with tyre wall and the damage is just cosmetic? cosmetic and a steering arm.. thnik it might be reshelled as shells are so cheap and it is not work spending 2k on bodywork on a 96 wagon with 235k on the clock it made 450/455 at surrey RR the day before Edited February 24, 2008 by Jolly Green Monster
turbo2000wagon Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 cosmetic and a steering arm..thnik it might be reshelled as shells are so cheap and it is not work spending 2k on bodywork on a 96 wagon with 235k on the clock it made 450/455 at surrey RR the day before 450 is pretty impressive, typical that you stacked it the day after.
Jolly Green Monster Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 partly the cause imho.. dccd on open and it was running 420 before and the 35lb extra torque was making it very very tail happy... scared myself a couple of times on the road where as wit hthe 420 I was fine in the wet etc.. with crash helmet on I was less aware how much I was spinning the rears out of bends and coming out of druids got it very sideways.. may have caught it if I had more road, maybe not but was approaching the guy who had moved over to the right for me to pass quicker than I liked so bailed it.. hit brakes hard and slide backwards sideways into tyres.. **** happens.. but was considering swapping running gear to a 4 or 2door anyway.. just expected to keep the wagon for everyday with standardish engine. Simon

Simon shame, but like you say it happens, hope all goes well with the rebuild.
