braveheart Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 I've had both the 2.5, was a brand new block everything forged and to be honest it did not make a difference I was lifting heads and blowing gaskets on a number occasion and wasn't running that silly boost it became costly. The semi closed deck block cannot take alot of boost and my opinion is unreliable over 450bhp. If you have the capital and you want more reliability I would suggest the 2.0 CDB and stroke it or if funds and more accessible then go for a 2.2 block then stroke it to 2.35 what I have done, or 2.33. you have a engine their that's very strong and with larger head studs it can take more than 2.0 bar of boost. My 10p worth...
