neill54 Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Had my exhaust on the car for a while but every 6 months or so the gaskets seem to fail just wondered what's the best thing to do when refitting them ie use paste what bolts etc Neil
boab type ra Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 what gasket you using i had the same problem with genuine subaru gaskets so tryed midlands exhaust on ebay and av had no problems

gus the bus Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Neil, if your not using exhaust paste then you wont get a perfect seal, I'd suggest gasket and paste. Got a spare gasket here me thinks if you need one?
neill54 Posted August 24, 2011 Author Posted August 24, 2011 Cheers Gus just noticed your post after I ordered a couple of gaskets D'oh! What paste? Just good old gun gum? Neil

Neil Yup, good old gun gum or as Johnny says any exhaust paste tbh and make sure the nuts you use are either lock thread or fit double nuts. That should see the end of your problem
