rig-pig Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 a newage STi but you will need one from a pre 2005 to save changing the hubs, you will need gearbox, clutch, propshaft, diff and drive shafts from a newage sti
scooby222 Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 id suggest an uprated gearset into one of the boxes you have and a specialist rebuilding it - should be cheaper than a newage 6 speeder fitted and capable of handling the power your after
boab type ra Posted August 20, 2011 Author Posted August 20, 2011 been looking at 6 speed boxs but out my price range at the moment. tryed looking for uprated gears but all i can find is scoobyclinic helical gear kit which is more expensive than a 6 speed so i defo can`t do that. is there a classic gearbox that would be strong enough for 350bhp or will i need to keep it at the power its got at the moment
johnnyr6 Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 A late classic sti (TY754) box will work and probably one of the cheapest options if you get a good one. Other option is get yours rebuilt but early classic boxes may not cope well with 350, thats why i sold mine. johnny.
RA Dunk Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 A late classic sti (TY754) box will work and probably one of the cheapest options if you get a good one. That's the direction I took with mine, I went for a MY99 V6 Sti Box from a P1.
