Loosing boost

Recommended Posts

On my way home today decided to give it a bit of welly as i came off a roundabout. Heard a whining noise coming from the turbo and i did not get as much power (boost) as i normally get. I'm guessing a hose may be loose going to turbo??

Car is getting serviced this week but is there anything i can look for at the moment to sort the problem.

Cheers.

could be a split or loose hose m8 when is it going in ???

Car's going in next week for a service. I noticed that the intercooler pipe does not appear to be sitting on the turbo properly. Don't know if this is the problem.

Problem solved. Loose intercooler pipe. Cheers Craig. :icon_salut:

Always good when it's an easy fix

I had a similar problem a few months back and couldn't find the problem until I took the intercooler off and found the following damaged and leaking pipe hidden at the bottom of the turbo.

My turbo hose looks the same as your in the middle, is it supposed to look like it has been patched? ie. like a puncture repair?

cheers

That patch in the middle of your hose is where a stainless steel metal retaining "t-piece" is placed. It keeps the Jubilee clips in a certain rotation so you can reach it with the screwdriver to fasten/loosen it.

It is meant to be there and be like that.
