Exhaust opinion

I have an exhaust dilemma.

Currently have a meercat custom 3" downpipe with sportscat goin to 2.5", joining to a 2.5" H&S centre to 2.5" Afterburner backbox.

After being behing a couple of scoobs running the nur spec r set up im seriously considering going for that.

So, do I get the Blitz nur spec r cat back and join it to my meercat downpipe, which would mean that I will have a 3" downpipe, going to 2.5", then joining the nur spec r which i think is 2.5" going out to 3" along the centre pipe. In effect i will have a bigger exhaust at both ends with 2.5" in the middle. Is this feasible, is it a disaster, is it a daft idea??!! Will it explode in my face lol?

Or should I get meercat do just do me a 3" centre going to a 3" back box. They have made my downpipe in such a way that it can be cut where it goes to 2.5" so that a 3" centre pipe can be fitted.

TBH im just thinking that i wont get that nur spec sound which seems quite tasty if I go meercat.

With custom exhausts how much input can you really get to get the sound you want? What happens if they build it for you and once its on you think, nope, not the sound i was looking for??

I have heard a couple of meercat systems and it wasnt quite the sound i am looking for. I thought the meercat systems i heard werent as low rev rumbly as the nur spec r seems to sound.

Any input, opinions please. thanks.

Have a look at Stainless Creations in Falkirk - they will custom an exhaust for you...

I've got a Cobra back box & my WRX sounds VERY burbly...

I personally don't think Meercat can replicate the sound of a blitz. It seems the design of the backbox is unique to a blitz.

Btw I'm friends with Meercat and support them 100%.

But what sounds you get from Meercat is unique to them too.

Ive just fitted a cobra back box.... Its loud... can get to u on long journeys but one plus is it drowns out the kids in the back...

Have you been in any cars with the full Nur spec systems? My car has it and the noise inside the car can start to get a bit much after a while.

No I havent TBH, will need to try that out. Car not a daily driver at all, so prob not as bad for someone using it everyday etc.

Hi Peter. Ive heard Richies wagon which I believe is a full meercat system and ive found this clip on the tube of a meercat exhaust...

I think this car is from down my way as well. I would imagine if/when I take this further I will prob get willie to fit it anyway with the way the downpipe was made for my car. :)

Im looking to get a new system and thought about Blitz as I want the exhaust to be LOUD but I cant get a full de-cat as my Scoob is my daily drive.

Ive got a Ninja II back box just now but its a bit quiet

i've got the blitz nurspec on the gb270 full system and there's a few on here that'll agree it sounds sweet, yes its a bit noisy when at full pelt and on a long run but aparently you get a bung that quietens down a bit, don't know why you'd want to do that though.i'm sure you've heard it on one of the meets.

Sounds like youre pretty set on the Blitz TBH. thats a loud loud exhaust but each to their own.

Ive had that system and then a meercat system and prefered meercat. I also asked him to make me a short short back box so it was loud as a box of starving meercats. it was loud on boost but didnt piss me off driving around town like that blitz did.

Recently i went and got a revolution 3" system from......revolution and love it. Its fairly quite around town as decats go but when it opens up it sounds sweet.

3" all the way though. no choke points
