  1. 1. Should I sell the classic and upgrade ?

    • Dont be daft, I've seen your classic, you'd be a fool to sell it.
    • Buy the WRX Hawkeye and get with the program.

Getting any nibbles? (from the car ad before anyone asks!)

Nothing serious, most folk are telling me it's over priced, but I believe the car is worth the price. Not got much room in leeway in regards to upgrading to a blob as mrs is spending all the spare cash on baby stuff at the moment. So maybe going to go down the swop route.

Tax is up at the end of this month, I will most likely stick 6 months tax on it and maybe drop the price a wee bit more, but Im not going to give it away at some of the prices folk have mentioned, If I still don't get any bites it's getting retired, I will keep it and just sorn iit over the winter again.

its a tough market out there just now, and the prices of classics has plummeted due to insurance and fuel costs etc, depends how serious you are about selling it, i know how much i sold it for a few years back and prices have dropped a lot since then, i think if you want to sell it realistically you would have to drop the price to more like £3750, but then if its worth more to you then just keep it as you said . i know how hard it is to sell these now, i bought an immaculate mica red classic from a member on here a year and a half ago, was on 54k, standard, a my00, and i paid more than u are asking. i then did what i probably shouldnt have and modded the engine, hybrid td04, sti top mount, full decat andy forrest remap etc etc was running 305bhp, then when it came to selling it lost a fortune, sold it for 3700, worst thing was it was back up for sale 5 months later as the boy got made redundent and i was watching it on pistonheads as i was toying with buying it back because it was that good, and he dropped the price to £2700 eventually, i was gutted i didnt have the money to buy it back. somebody got an absolute bargain!!!!! anyway good luck with sale, cheers.

Mrs has told me I don't need to sell if I don't want to which is nice as it means I don't have to give it away for peanuts but I think we really need something other than her Audi for over the winter time. Don't want to run the Classic over the winter but I've booked it in at RA in Perth to get it under sealed just in case.

I was trying to wangle a swap with a fellow SIDC member but I was struggling to get the cash at my end and then it fell through at their end, which was a shame. I've also looked at a trade in for a UK300 which I'm just waiting to hear back about. Like the UK300's.

Remembered that you bought the mica red one, it was nice motor, shame you had to sell it after all the mods you put into it, guess we live and learn. Its always crap when you put in a shed load of cash and cant get it back when it comes to selling, been down that path in the past with a few cars.

Have given it until the end of the month, if it doesn't sell then I will just keep it and wait until the market picks up again.

SOLD !!! :)

Guy came up from Newcastle this afternoon, got just below my asking price so I cant complain. Just goes to show that there is still a market for minted classics as long as your in no hurry to sell.

Must admit, mixed feelings about seeing it go, rather sad in a way but the new owner was showing me some pictures of his previous scoobies so at least I know its going to a good home.

So now the hunt for a replacement starts, do I go down the wagon route or stick to a saloon ? Blobeye this time though.

Chris is it a blobeye WRX or STI ??? after selling the classic

WRX mate, head say get a wagon as more space for pram and dog, head says saloon looks nicer. Also looking at lower tax bracket hawks too.

glad you got close to the asking price, it was a tight fit with the pram in my scoob but it was ok in the wifes wagon and its easier to fit a walbro pump and do the suspension in the wagon :icon_salut:

Cheers lads. Felt shit seeing it get driven away, at least now it's in Newcastle I won't see it around Dundee, that would just be torture.

Sold it for £100 off the classified add price that I had on eBay, so I really can't complain, proving that mint classics really do hold their value. Guy who took it has previously owned a hawk sti and a wr1 so it's off to a good home.

So now the big question, if it's not a wagon, do I go blob or hawk saloon?

I spotted your car on Saturday at around 8.50AM at the Claypotts Junction.

Yep, that was me, one last blast in it before the buyer came in the afternoon.

See buy mine lol

:occasion14:

Was tempted mate seeing as your just down the road, but found something that really took my fancy on Saturday night and the deal was done by Sunday lunchtime. Pick it up next week. Will post some pics once its actually on my driveway.

Na Na, I ain't no hairdresser. :P

I think i know what car you bought. The pic of the alloy wheel on Scottish Scoobs gave it away, as did the brake caliper.
