jebus82 Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 planning to add a bit more power to the gb270 but in the future, and i know that when i do that better bigger brakes are a sensible must. so what im basically wondering is whats a good set of brakes/ or discs n pads or all 3 to get!! would have to be fairly cost effective as i will not ever be taking the car on the track, also its a daily driver. seen a few sets (ap racing etc..) but thought i would ask as most of you know better than me on things like this!! so i can save my pennies!!! cheers jebus
scooby222 Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 big question is how hard are you on brakes? if your not running massive power or hammering the brakes on all the time id stick with good quality brembo discs (£???), fast road pad like the mintex 1144 (£90), braided brake lines (£50) and that should keep you happy. after that its options like performance friction or DBA pads and discs (£800 ish) or caliper upgrade kits like ksport (£750) or AP's (£1600) after this weekend ask me how the caliper upgrade route goes
stum450n Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Wait until the next issue of TG - there's a nice bit of Subaru Pro-R kit in there that might interest you

wrxmania Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 According to Farmer Autocare my front pads have barely any life left - he laughed when I said my service was coming up in 2500 miles - I'd sort it then... Probably means there is 10k left on them, especially after only 14k of reasonably normal driving! May be looking for front pads shortly too. Brian
thefastone Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 I have the Prodrive 330mm conversion on my car, and I love them. but they are seriously not cheap if you buy them new... but I think they are not that bad second hand...?
