sti pretender Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Xcceleration use to do a 900/1000bhp engine from what I remember, don't seem to offer it now but you might get a few ideas from their site. http://www.xcceleration.com/index.htm
braveheart Posted April 8, 2011 Author Posted April 8, 2011 Cracking video would love to see the results of this not too sure if figures are out for this it quoting 1200 bhp dont think it will achieve this with a 3.0 could be wrong
wilky Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 You would need to think about wastegates, and if it was a twin turbo, running both wastegates off of one solenoid, hose lengths MAY need to be the same etc etc etc. I toyed with the idea and actually bought a 3.3 about 5 years ago. However the costs were horrific and that combined with other issues I had with the Millenium Falcon at the time, meant that it fell by the wayside and the engine was swallowed up in the mounting costs of the other car at the time. Single plenum or twin? If twin you would need to cross pressurize. Would cross pressurization be required on the two banks of headers if twin turbo? Another issue I had that I simply couldn't get round was the amount of weight that was going to be forward of the center of the front wheels ( the correct technical wording eludes me at present, Im sorry) In a rear wheel drive car you can move the engine and gearbox to the rear to help balance the car and make it handle better, however with the 4wd set up etc it is near on impossible. Just my tuppence worth! Callum

colin_ross Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Making 1000 bhp is easy. It's keeping the engine in one piece that's difficult.
braveheart Posted April 8, 2011 Author Posted April 8, 2011 Making 1000 bhp is easy. It's keeping the engine in one piece that's difficult. Ha ha if it was that easy we would all be doing it.. That wasnt what i was asking Colin
craigdmcd Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Easy, just source an engine from a Veyron - Job done!
colin_ross Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Ha ha if it was that easy we would all be doing it.. That wasnt what i was asking Colin You want to see whats involved? I'll send you a link. Have your wallet ready.
arch Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 If you were doing most of the fabrication and chopping your self and building the engine yourself you could do it on a fair budget. To pay someone to do it mmm not sure its worth it and once built what would you use it for.

I would just not want it to be a drag car but an all round car if i had the money. This is all talking if i had funds and a sponsar.. thats way i would do it one of my bosses car a Porshe GT3 1000bhp was out in that and scared the shit out of me he has given me the bug again , meeting up at silverstone for a blast not a bad boss i suppose.. andrew_forrest Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Not had it on the dyno yet Chris, its 1.5 times the capacity of my last 850bhp car (without nos) so on paper good for 1275bhp, the 'fuse' being the cheap clutch I have in there that will limit torque to around 700lbft for the time being. Oh and it has gone over budget in the last 6 months, way over budget
johnnyr6 Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Wow 5G for a 1000bhp if you can do that i will give you 5G tommorow lol, i meant 500 for 5G so 1000 for 10G possible I bet you have andy, does the eg33 fit onto a 6spd without mods? How is the space in front for a rad etc.? Johnny
