lack of power

my ex foned and asked me to look at her scooby it was losing power so went down had a look no pipes or plugs loose so started it up ran ok took it for a spin was ok off boost but when it was heated up i nailed it and it felt like i was pulling a heavy weight the boost was at 14psi and the revs climbed but took forever to get there i checked the fault codes and it came up 24 and 54 and help would greatly apreciated.

You may have a boost leak. I had this once. I checked all the pipes and clips and it all seemed okay until I noticed that a boost hose had actually split. The split had been caused by something touching the pipe and over time with vibration and movement had worn it and caused it to finally split. Check all the pipes properly. If you have a FMIC with hard pipework check for metal on metal contact that could have worn a hole in the alloy. If thats all good look at your intercooler and check for a hole or split in that. Highly unlikely if you have never touched it and you still have the top mount but always worth a look. Your looking for metal on metal wear on that as well.

Its a shot in the dark but the symptoms you describe is exactly what I was experiencing.

Had the similar problem aswell it was the boost control solinoid change it out it was fine for a week then got the same problem changed it out again and its been great that was about 9 months ago, PS the moral is get a shot of one to try it then buy one new

not hade time to look at the ex`s car she decided to use it to for a job interview and i got a fone call sayin the car was smoking, whent and had a look. started it up and the engine was shking the full car and sounded like it was running on 3 cylinders she was only half a mile from home so i told here to take it easy and i fallowed. couldn`t see it for blue smoke and oil is dripping from the exhaust. think it could b piston rings goin to pressure test next chance i get. thanks for the advice guys :icon_salut:
