exhaust too loud

I love the sound of the boxer engine but my new Impreza is a bit too loud for my liking. Is there any waqy of reducing the noise without changing the exhaust or it is a case of buying a new one. I havent had a look underneath yet so not sure what my exhaust consists of.

Depending on the make/type of back box you might be able to get a bung made for it.

as Paul said - i think a custom exhaust maker should be able to make a bung to suit you

though depending on what sort of exhaust youve got swapping to a resonated centre section might do the trick

From the angle and tip that looks poss like an afterburner vortex backbox to me. Thats what I have, used to have the hayward and scott prodrive style backbox but went for the afterburner for more noise. If you changed the backbox to something like the prodrive, then you would be quieter.

Iv'e still got the stainless creations back box left from my GB which was a cobra for sale, looking for £55 I'll dig out a couple of pics for you. It's a lot quieter but you still get the burble quite welcome to try it out. Drop me a pm if you're interested.

If it is an afterburner vortex or a ninja you can get a baffle for about £20/30 from scoobyworld. Got one for mine on the commute and I remove it at the weekends - takes less than 2 mins.
