zeolite Posted February 11, 2011 Author Posted February 11, 2011 Chris...That was my rods packed up and sent by sea today. Probably wont see them for 3 months! Fishing in Wyoming is supposed to be great so we will see. Off on Monday!
wrxmania Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 All the best to you Ian...hope the CD's were finished in time
zeolite Posted February 13, 2011 Author Posted February 13, 2011 Sitting here looking at the suitcases in an almost empty room. Tomorrow is going to be a long day and I must remember that from now on I will be driving on the "other" side of the road!
mystery machine Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Aye, sounds a bit daunting. Have you driven on the RHS of the road before? It doesn't take long to get used to – what I found took a couple of days to get used to was driving from the LHS of the car...... (just about kerbed it a couple of times!).
zeolite Posted February 16, 2011 Author Posted February 16, 2011 I have driven a fair few thousand miles on the wrong side in the US and Europe so that doesn't worry me too much. Anyway here now! That is we are in Casper after driving up from Denver. Got a Jeep Grand Cherokee and it is very nice. Back to work tomorrow.
zeolite Posted February 18, 2011 Author Posted February 18, 2011 Been damn windy here in Wyoming but sunny with it. I have been so busy I haven't had time to think. Will write a better update when i get the chance.
mystery machine Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 It's been cold and wet here, and miserable with it
zeolite Posted March 4, 2011 Author Posted March 4, 2011 It has been sunny and bloody windy this last week and I have been learning how to be an oilfield worm! Some local news has hit the headlines. You no longer need a permit to carry a concealed weapon in Wyoming! Makes those road rage incidents all the more interesting I would imagine. Anyway forklift training yesterday and today I am going to get my driving licence!

zeolite Posted March 5, 2011 Author Posted March 5, 2011 Wahey! I ran a red and still got my licence! Pesky examiner freaked out and put me off! Anyway I now have the hat and boots but it will be a while before I get a firearm!
zeolite Posted March 8, 2011 Author Posted March 8, 2011 Hooray. My moaning about how crap my F150 truck is has paid off. I have got a new company vehicle and it is much nicer with a cd player in it. Pics to follow. Should be getting the Tiguan next week.
RA Dunk Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Wahey! I ran a red and still got my licence! lol excellent! how is the driving test over there compared to here then?

Is the F150 not the thing with the 8.0L supercharged engine and the brakes from a Fiesta?
zeolite Posted March 9, 2011 Author Posted March 9, 2011 The driving test is very easy. Sight test, multiple test on a computer and a 5 minute run around town. You just walk in. The F-150 comes in many variants and is the top selling truck ever. The one I had was a 5.4 V8 LWB. It was harsh and under-specced. Didn't even have a cd player.
