GazTurboUK Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Looking to fit oil pressure and oil temp gauges to my pre-facelift classic, was wondering what people have used/prefer with regards using a sandwich plate or adaptor at oil pressure switch? Also will have three gauges fitted whats the best position/pod for these?
drb5 Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 For pod, i never found a 3 gauge pod i liked for the dash, so suggest a pillar pod. I've always fitted the pressure sensor at the existing one, as it's simple, easy and CLEAN. Fitting a sandwich plate means changing the oil, but it can get a bit messy. For the temp sensor, i removed the plug to the right(IIRC)ontop of the block, then drilled and tapped a thread to suit.

johnnyr6 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I will do a project thread when its nearer the finished stage ( i reckon it'll take me about 2 years or so to build). It wont be faster than colins as i will probably need to use mine as a road car more than him and i dont want to rotate the turbo. I can't start it until i get a couple of bikes sorted and out my garage, so hopefully get back into it in the spring. Johnny
