Gumball Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Guys, Anyone that works offshore. Any ideas where I could keep the scoob when offshore, dyce? I hear the longstay want you to leave the keys with them. no. Any brilliant ideas you want kept secret, please PM me. I need help Even someone with space for a small RB320 for 3 weeks at a time would be good :-)
ciaranrb5 Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 I used Aberdeen airpark for years and have never had an issue. They do take your keys but believe me your car will not be at any risk it's in a 24hr manned compound and no they don't tare about in your car!! I now just park at the airport thistle as i have worked out a way of getting free parking
herbie Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 The last time I left my Impreza at the Airpark it got damaged, so I wouldnt recommend leaving your RB320 there. I bought a runaround to leave at the airpark instead. Give Gav at Detail Ecosse a call. He can store cars and is based at Newmachar. He can drop you off at the heliport. You can even have it cleaned for you coming home. http://www.detailecosse.co.uk/
G.Mac Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 G Unit, my brother used to occasionaly borrow my Scoob to go off shore with when I was working away, PM incloming!
wilky Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 I have a Granny in UKSF excused wearing boots, and a duffle coat with no buttons. Would that help?
rig-pig Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 i have parked in the air park for years with no probs, but i have been told of a few people that have had a bump in their car
RA Dunk Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Aberdeen Airpark for me as well , been leaving my car there for years with no issue, when dealing with the ammount of cars these guys do bumps will always happen I suppose, I have also heard they have fixed every bump they have caused.
Gumball Posted December 15, 2010 Author Posted December 15, 2010 cheers for the advice guys. Mostly was great. One in particular was splendid. Ill look into the various places a little more. Granny in UKSF excused wearing boots and PT is brilliant ! I hope she appreciates you letting her OPSEC down
RA Dunk Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Cant see you getting any more secure and safe than Aberdeen Airpark TBH Chris, manned 24/7 with security cameras all over the place.

Gumball Posted December 22, 2010 Author Posted December 22, 2010 Is the 7 where you met senior Provan? Hes now on the 6. Ill be on the viking which has just been built in singapore. ''turnin burnin hell'' and ''time to lean, time to clean'' all sound familiar. They can get the rousties to do that, ill watch from the floor

(On the last count I've been on something like 24 different rigs it's hard to tell who I've met where now lol ) Yea, there's no mercy with Rowan thats "for sure", not my cup of tea TBH. There'll be plenty of scrubbing on the drill floor especially on a new build, so you wont't be watching the rousties for too long lol :madnoel:
Gumball Posted December 22, 2010 Author Posted December 22, 2010 think he went to the 80 after the 72 in 2004/5 and then the gorilla6. I expect they will be hard work indeed but ill manage im sure. New rig defo means ''keep it clean as long as possible'' In some ways an older one where everything is bogging would be better. Rowan Cowboys :kerstsmiley:

Rowan Cowboys :kerstsmiley: Must have been the 80 then, your old man was pretty good as company man TBH, think I was a Service Operator with Brandt (Skip & Ship) when I bumped into him, Even though I had never seen him before as soon as I seen him for the first time I knew who he was and who his son was :biggrinsanta: Where is he nowadays?
