Wee Jock Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 (edited) Hi guys, my rear diff temp warning light comes on from cold & goes off intermitently when car is warm. Is it a dodgey sensor, loose wire, will resetting the ecu help? Car has recently had its 30k mile service so all oils just changed! Any thoughts appreciated. Cheers WJ Edited November 13, 2010 by Wee Jock
arch Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Sounds like you have a wiring issue possibly associated with the service of ther ear diff. I would suggest having the car running, have someone in the front seat watching the warning light, crawl underneath and manipulate the wiring to see if the warning comes as you move the wiring. If it does I would go straight back to the dealer that done theservice, if not it could well be a duff sensor.
G.Mac Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 (edited) My diff temp sensor went wonkey ages ago in mine, the plastic had gone brittle that holds the wires and requires a new sensor. Subaru wanted a couple of hundred pounds for a poxy temp sensor hence mine still goosed Graeme Edited November 14, 2010 by G.Mac
Wee Jock Posted November 15, 2010 Author Posted November 15, 2010 Graeme yer having a laugh! couple a hundred quid for a sensor!
