car hits 5000 revs then nothing

Have a small problem when the car hits 5000 rpm it dies then when u change up gear pulls ok again , I had a problem before with a knackered fuel pump so fitted a new uprated 1 and car started and ran ok apart from this 5000 rpm problem any 1 any ideas. I done the code check thing and it showed code 22 (knock link sensor i think)would this cause the problem ,i was thinking spark plugs or coil pack. car is a 1997 type r with coil pack on manifold.

Could be anything. Does it happen in all gears? Do you know what boost your hitting when it happens?

Could be an ignition fault or overboosting.

What mods and has it been mapped?

More info you give the easier it will be to narrrow the problem down.

HI only mods car has is ninja exhaust only 1 cat, uprated fuel pump , panel filter and blitz iriduim plugs that have been in a car a while. yes it does it in every gear but i notice it more in second.sorry for slow reply been busy thx.
