blexy 1984 Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 hi iv got a subaru jap import L reg so i will start with the prob iv got went to get fule thursday and put the cheap unleaded in but only £10 as i didnt notice at the time so on way home it started to run how would u say it lumpy and not boostin right as it was running at 1bar and now wont even reach 0.5 bar so went and filled the tank with good fule and gave it a good run about 100miles and the prob is still thare so cheak all the boost pipes, conections ect.. cleaned the plugs and new fule filter still nuffing but it will tick over fine and take a rev but theres a strong smell of fule from the car and theres some smoke out the back of it but its not an oil smoke like burning oil just smells like unburned fule its got a fancey ecu, front mount, air filter ect.. This is my first subaru and only had it a few weeks and not realy sure whats up so any help or info will be grate thanx darren
ciaranrb5 Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Sounds like it's in limp mode. Can't remember how you reset the ECU somebody will be along shortly to say how though. Only put super unleaded or V-power in your car nothing else
jae Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 its got a fancey ecu, front mount, air filter ect.. I would try and find out what that fancy ecu is, MAF sensor would be my first port of call after resetting the ecu, clearing the error codes.
frankyboy Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 (edited) mate i know this may be a long shot but when i messed about with my injectors i nipped a seal it gave all the same syptoms not running or boosting smell of fuel and smoke coming out the back so dont know if you might have a perished seal. if you need to know anymore pm me Edited September 18, 2010 by frankyboy
