Up-pipes

is there an easy way to tell if my up-pipe is cracked

i think it is leaking but i am finding it hard to tell

dont want to take it off unless i have to

it was an used sti one that i fitted at the time of a remap

When my uppipe was cracked it was fairly easy to pinpoint the area the noise was coming from, I guess It will depend on how bad the crack is though. Mines was cracked almost a 1/3 of the way round at the bottom end of the expansion part. If you have access to ramps maybe get it up in air and look from underneath once you remove the plastic guard if its still on. Meercat in kilbirnie do an up pipe called a slip joint that seals as it expands and quality of work is very high as I am quite sure a lot on here will agree . Hope you get something sorted anyway.
