New Suspension

Had some KW Variant 3 coilovers and a Whiteline Anti-Lift Kit fitted today - I'll wade straight in with some attention-grabbing pics :)

...also went for a 'fast road' geometry (i.e. touch more neg. camber).

Early days yet, but body roll has been reduced significantly and steering is more responsive, with a sharper turn-in. The car seems really eager to change direction, which makes for a very pleasing drive. Certainly, if desired, roundabouts can be dispensed with at an unfeasible rate! :)

Delighted with the ride quality - slightly firmer than before over small road imperfections, but with a 'rounded' feel that's not harsh or crashy at all. Over uneven road surfaces the ride actually feels better - more controlled and less inclined to deviate from the chosen path. Bit less bounce than before, but still maybe a tad more than I'd prefer..... might have to play with the rebound setting, see if that can be dialed out :D

Thanks to young Dunc and the guys at Hypertech for their work on the fitting, thanks to Dunc senior for taking the time to chat about the setup before and after purchasing, and thanks to Alex for making everything go smoothly

Can't wait to take it out for a proper run now...

Nice nice oh and nice, if you want to take it a run

I am looking at these with another member with regards to buying them for our cars too.

looks minted

Worth the wait?

very nice m8, looks spot on but g.mac you know its black that's the fastest colour :)

...and that's WITH a golden flake before someone else says it.

Daft-sounding (but actually quite seriousand sincere) question: How much of a drop is that, and have you had an argument with a speed bump yet?

Thanks for all the comments, guys!

Worth the wait?
Aye Derek, early days - but I'm very pleased so far
Mystery looking **** hot who fitted them?

Greig

Thanks Greig - the fitting was carried out by Hypertech in Bonnybridge.
looks sweet mate,

almost perfect stance,

think a front splitter would set it of nicely

Cheers, and you're absolutely right - a front lip looks great on a Hawkeye. You know, that's one of only two cosmetic mods I'd consider making to the car - that and a set of Blobeye rear tail lamps to replace the plasticy 'Lexus style' efforts. Just couldn't justify spending cash on cosmetic stuff just now... I could barely justify the KWs TBH, but they do add so much to the car I think they're worth it :P

As accurately as I can measure, it now sits 4cm lower front and 3cm lower rear.

OK over speed bumps so far, but the real test will be next week...

How is the scoob into corners, well flat?
It's much flatter than before Derek. You particularly notice it when exiting bends - previously the car would become a bit uncomposed as the weight shifted back to centre, now it's much more together and you can get onto the throttle earlier.

You can be more aggressive with the steering inputs too, with less fear of it all turning to blancmange! :D

You still looking at treating the hatch to a set?

Yeah, just trying to figure out either KW V3 or clubsport awaiting a phone call today on availability

Looking good, and well done parking the car in the After pic to within an inch of exactly where the car is sitting in the Before pic :D

Sounds like you are pleased with the upgrade, that's the main thing.

Interesting that you're considering the Clubsport. Are you concerned that the V3s might be a bit soft for the track, Del?

Cheers Cathy!

Aye, you Lothian & Borders folks certainly have more than your fair share of good roads! How about a swap... your A7 for our M9? :D
