jebus82 Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 any one got any tips on how to get rid of these? probaly gona use the meguiars stuff, think its called scratch x?? just wondering if anyone had any recomendations or tips? cheers jebus
C_WRX Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 You're really only going to get them out properly by having them machine/polish combination out, you may need to pay someone to help with that bit. Can be done by hand with those right products but you'll have arms like Popeye by the end of it. There are products, e.g. blackhole, that can be used that a lot of folks rate as good at masking (filling) in swirl marks. Fairly sure autoglym do an okay one as well. Take it the sun hitting the paintwork today has really brought them out !!! Don't worry, doubt the sun will be about all that much more .
jebus82 Posted August 15, 2010 Author Posted August 15, 2010 yeah did notice them today more than usual when i took it out the garage. arms like popeye?!............am off to buy a can of spinach then!!
andyherd Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 clay bar and something like scrath x will do the trick
JasonW Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 ScratchX wont realy remove the swirls - and like th above people have said "you will need/have arms like popeye." You really need a machine polisher and some decent products there.
notsosmall Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Where are you from? As already said machine polish is the best fix for swirls but can be costly, if working by hand then after claying, Autoglym SRP (super resin polish) would be my choice it wont fix the swirls but it will reduce and fill them and make the rest of the paintwork shine after a few coats protect it with a good wax, sorted
subarucraig Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 after super resin polish coat with autoglym extra gloss protection car should look ace after this aslonng as you use in diffrennt direction from usual polish if your strugglinng with this i offer a machine polish service from£100 dependening on paint thanks craig
