Beith Team Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 3 months after unseizing the front brake calipers hey presto there starting to seize again. The current discs are warped like the starship enterprize and the pads look like digestive biscuits. I have a £200 budget and was thinking red / yellow stuff pads and drilled and grooved vented discs ??? I am a virgin when it comes to owning these rice rockets so mucho helpo appreciated. As for the calipers I know there is a fella that recons them with st/st pistons but that isnt an option at the mo due to Mr Camerons cuts.
wrx kenny Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 godspeed i think are still doing there group buy over on scoobynet which will get you pads and discs for that price , as for ebc stuff a while a go i put ebc grooved and drilled discs and red stuff pads on got to say total shi*e , had two incidents when they failed all together not good they just cant cope with a lanark run , check scoobynet m8 kenny
TrackScotland Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 stay away from EBC. Discs and pads for £200 - Not sure what you'd get other than OE equivilent - that might be your best bet.
Spaceman Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 ebc have redone all there pads read bout it on SN the owner is on there and aparently there pads are fantastic now.
johnnyr6 Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 i ran oe spec discs from camskill with ebc yellowstuff pads and they were very good. That setup would be less that £200. Johnny
Beith Team Posted August 15, 2010 Author Posted August 15, 2010 After looking over various forums and websites I think I'll go for yellow ebc with some vented and drilled. Also gonna purchase st/st pistons for the calipers and refurb them mysel.
Gus134 Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I dont know if you checked the Godspeed group buy out over on SN, http://bbs.scoobynet.com/group-buys-356/83...-group-buy.html These are well worth the money imo,ive been running them on my ra for 3or4 months now and i am happy with them for just over 100quid and next day delivery you cant go wrong
tomwrx08 Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 they discs and pads from the link above are a great buy, these are the same discs but in larger size in have with my brembos, the kevlar pads are the next step up from the oem pads and are a good set up but get braided hoses and better brake fluid to make the set up more effective. off topic, as for the new ebc bluestuf pads,i recieved a set for my 07wrx fitted with front brembos to try and have to say they are superb, work great from cold unlike some of the other top spec pads and no squealing ,i dont track my car but do like to give it some and these just get better and better, ian godney loves these new pads and is in talks to become a distributor for them and anyone who knows him will know he only stocks stuff that works well,
Beith Team Posted August 17, 2010 Author Posted August 17, 2010 Went for the group buy on sn. Cheers guys.
