hi needing some advice on getting car painted. got a quote from broughty ferry autos today they said approx 650 this would include them cutting out rust on rear arches and welding in new bits painting rear arches removing rust from roof and the bits under rear lights and painting them to i'll post pics to just wondered if this was a decent price and if anyone has had similar work done to theirs and how much it cost thanks craig

Hey bud,

I have a classic with the rust around the rear wheel arches! I took it to a body shop and I had the rust cut out, sprayed, the whole front end resprayed with the rest of the car polished up to match and it cost me £600 so I don't think your price is too bad. All I will say is make sure they do a good job because I have sent mine back because the rust came back on one of the rear arches, not because they did a bad job but because they had disturbed that area and it came up next to where they had done.

try the one at the back of the nissan on the kingsway i cant remember the name of the place but i have only been told good things, i use bob falkener in arbroath for any painting m8, i know a few people that have used the ferry auto's and are very happy with the work

One of my mates is a panel beater/ paint sprayer.

He can do it for a reasonable cost il get a price from him when i get home if your intrested?

price's are not bad either maybe not the cheapest or most expensive but reasonable and work is good as already said

Craig the bits below the back lights are easily replaced.

Think both mine from my old car are mint £10 and you can have both and you will just have to get them colour coded

i just got a pair delivered today got for 5.99 including delivery from ebay couldn't believe my luck just need them painted thats one less rusty part though thanks for offer anyway

I had rust in the same place on the rear arch bud, including getting that sorted and a couple of bits touched up with a bonnet respray, version 5 bumper fitted I was 350 all in from Dundee Autobody, was an older guy called Ian I was recommended to ask about it and he's honestly done a cracking job.
