Idle Control Valve

done a flash test on my classic and it has shown a fault with the icv

can this be cleaned or will it need to be replaced

Mark the position before you remove, make a carefull note of the order and direction of the one way valve. Can be cleaned using brake cleaner.

mark the position where the 2 screws are on top of the valve

mark the position where the 2 screws are on top of the valve

just unscrew but be careful that the end doesn't fall off, that happened to me and had to buy a replacement from a breakers. and yes just use brake cleaner don't be too rough on it.

tried to take out the 2 screws on the top of the icv and im just chewing the screw

can i take of the whole unit to clean

cheers kenny funny enough after i took the icv off and realised it had a gasket a thought i should replace it so have phoned subaru and ordered 1

prob have to get it sent over from japan again and take another 6 weeks lol
