sinny Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Hiya, been getting a really annoying rattle and located it to the up pipe heat shield totally adrfit from the exhaust, took it down to local garage and got it up on ramps and from what it looks like is the top half is adrift but the bottom half is ok. The up pipe would have to be removed to get it welded properly and tbh that looks an absolute nightmare with no room whatsover around it, he said if i left it with him he would persevere and remove the heatshield which would solve the rattle however what concerns me is the extra heat that would be picked up by the engine and possibly roast oil seals which i dont want, or possibly removing the heatshield will have very litte effect to temperature, wondering if any of you guys have had this problem and either removed heatshield or removed up pipe for proper repair. cheers, Stevie
Wee Jock Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Had all mine removed on MY Classic and it made no difference to me, in fact it was Subaru who removed the first one that went. Saved a bit of weight! WJ
