Subarstar Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Trying to get an idea of the programme for the rally in Dumfries on Saturday. Anyone got some insider info?....... The last two years, I've been staying down there over the weekend, so I made it along for the start, however this year I'm going to have to travel down from Glasgow area and I wondered if anyone had a rough idea of when the cars would be at Ae forest stages. Yes, I am lazy and I don't want to have to get up any earlier than necessary. I have thoroughly enjoyed this event for a few years now and for anyone else considering attending to spectate....GO! (Just don't wear your good clothes, you'll get covered in dust - guaranteed.)
micra_wrc Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 hope you manage to catch a stage or two, Click here for stage times
Subarstar Posted June 23, 2010 Author Posted June 23, 2010 Excellent! Had a look on that site earlier and couldn't find the correct information. (Guess I'm just stoopid!) Thanks a lot.
jamesm Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 For info. Ae South and Ae West both use the hairpin at the picnic area, access beyond Ae village. Ae East is up the hill to the north east of Ae village and is quite a walk! Twiglees and Castle O'er are both accessible from the B723, Lockerbie to Eskdalemuir Road. Take a dust mask and there is a chance they may be running a 2 min intervals due the dust as they did a few years ago.
Subarstar Posted June 25, 2010 Author Posted June 25, 2010 Cheers James, Saw most of the cars from Twiglees last year, but managed to get to the hairpin in Ae the year before and was well impressed. Looking forward to a good day tomorrow. Not looking forward to the dust clouds though!.......
