quick question , im a wee bit confused by all these different impreza versions . which version is the bugeye is it a 7...... thanks

version 6 was the last official version (classic) we just refer to the bugeye as a V7 a blobeye V8 and hawkeye V9

yea 7 was the bugeye sti's though not officially - and the arguments rage about whether v9 was the facelifted 05 blobeye or the hawk

Referring to models as versions is more of a motoring press thing and not official Subaru designation. Model year plus any specific special edition type or variant are the only offical classifications. Go by parts suppliers and technical bulletins, or as we all do - with classic, bug eye, blob eye, hawk eye, Popeye.... er whatever.

normally i do phil , but when im trying to source used parts , the amount of people that just refer to version this and that, it becomes a pain in the a*** very quickly .
