Simple Question ..eibach Springs .. Are They Good?

Hi ,

Gonna get new springs for my WRX Wagon ,, Now that sadly Prodrive Springs are gone I'm looking at fitting a set of Eibachs , ( which I know made the Prodrive ones ).. Are they any good ? I dont want the ride to be hard, just want to improve the ride and handling.

Once again your opinions are appreciated.

Cheers,

Steve

the set of eibachs i had on a classic were fine, no clunks etc as they only lowered a little bit so were fine with oem struts.

you might want to put on a section of coil wrap on the fronts for corrosion protection. rears came with plastic sleeve already on nearest wound coils and rear struts have rubber spacer on strut collar. if i was doing it again i would add a bit of coil wrap too lowest run of front springs where they may rub against strut collar.

how old are struts? ive twice renewed stuts all round on subarus ive bought second hand and its been very rewarding.

Thanks for replying..

The car is an 05 plate with 50k miles on her, had her for 4 months now.. they are standard struts that have never been changed as far as I know.

Money's a bit tight tbh and have heard the rears on the Blobeyes are known for knocking problems.. the car's got 6 months left of warranty so here's hoping!

I have eibach springs with standard struts on MY02 wrx. All good. Lowers the car nicely. I did notice the ride was firmer when goin over wee bumps etc but I dont notice it at all now. :)

The Prodrive springs are still showing on the Prodrive site... have they sold out? :icon_butt:

Not sure.. you definately cant buy them from Subaru dealers any more due to the ties with Prodrive being severed :icon_fU:

Sad thing is this applies to all Prodrive gear for our scoobs which I think is a real shame.
