Sidc 1/4 Mile Shootout

it would be great if the club could organise a annual event for this at crail we seem to do plenty of days by ourselfs but would be good if the sidc club got more involved and made a big thing of it and the pricing wouldn,t cost anymore than a standard day at crail any thoughts on this guys just an idea

Think Grant or some of the lads from AWD mentioned something about doing something similar to Scoobyshoot out at the end of last year but since no more has been said it dosent look to be happening now

Well nightmare it's a goer from me if you fancy jacking something up willing to give a helping hand I'm sure there will be a few others here keen enough, can incoporate a show shine also to get maximum participation only a susgestion

i,am on the case was thinking crail but looking into other venues if anyone has any ideas i,ll be contacting straightliner,s and see if they would be willing to do the timing gear for us if not then i,ll look at other thing,s if anyone is up for this can you put your name down that way i can get number,s cheers

i ment to add i spoke to a friend who told me crail would be a safe bet as the insurance for another site would cost the lottery but will still search on

What are you looking to do, a handling circuit and 1/4 mile or 1/4 mile only?

both dunk the more you can get the car involved the better it will be it,s just that crail is a good starting point right enough but if the first gathering proves successful then we can go from there but just keeping options open.

excellent, I would be up for this 'if im home for it', AFAIK the crail circuit is pretty heavy going on the tyres and is littered with potholes which might put some off

AFAIK Crail is the only place you could have both a handling circuit and a 1/4 mile in the same place on the same day, just a pity we didnt have a wide open space of concrete up here like Elvington

Would be just as well doing Scoobysprint, Scoobyshootout, Scoobylive and Scoobywhateverelsethereis than organising our own one if we wre to use Elvington.

Was intending on doing some of them, but from what I can work out (because nobody has confirmed it yet ) none of the ScoobySprint events will be held there this year they will be held all over England as far as I know, which isnt exactly ideal,then there is the other one Grudgement day (or what ever its called) but it's against other makes or car which could be ok as well I suppose.

Something up here would be better though

Edzell airfield ?? That would be a great venue if you could get it, they did some 1/4 shootouts there before, basically the guys from Crail came up and hosted a fortnightly event. Dunno whatever happened to it though, numbers were good as there was always plenty of peeps from Aberdeen etc that came down. IMO it was a better event than crail, wasnt full of bumps and holes.

RAF Edzell in current usage by Carnegie Fuels for storage so thats out of the window good idea though

I think were pretty fooked up here for something like this, you could always hire Ingliston for a wee sprint day or even a wee champoinship over a series of events

or a couple events a Kames a couple of events at Ingliston and a couple at Crail?

Yo ! RA Dunk Yes i wanted to get this started up a few years ago but did not get much feed back or help with it from anyone.

sorting out crail for this is no problem one phone call to willie and its sorted lads just need to sort out management and control e.t.c AWD Was even going to sponsor the event with bying trophes for top three cars and that we all deside what is fair for everyone as most like to cause issuse with track car race car garage car rubbish i say if its a scooby then its a scooby mods or not trailered to event or not, driven on roads (like all of my cars) or not

see these bring up so many issuse it would be so hard to keep everyone happy on these points would you all not agree..

i suggest the following

1 AWD Motorsport Scottish Scoobys shootout (all types) road race tracked or trailered WINNER takes all plus trophys for second and third

we could get S.I.D.C to also sponsor event even use one of the team to be incharge of it, So people cant say it was fixed and all that you know.
