Beith Team Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Bought ma scooby a couple of month back and while looking through my bank statement since the 5 th of april I have put £150 in the tank. WTF ? Its a weekend car. the only runs it gets is from beith to paisley or largs. Cant justify the crazy amounts of money gettin thrown away. What kind of money and miles are you guys clocking up? Oh i should also mention Im driving it like an old lady aswell .
StrikE Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Why did you buy the car if you cant handle the fuel? Impreza are thirsty cars at the best of times, depending on how you drive obviously
ciaranrb5 Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Yes i spent £3000 last year on fuel. Thats why i have bought a run about
Beith Team Posted April 18, 2010 Author Posted April 18, 2010 Why did you buy the car if you cant handle the fuel? Impreza are thirsty cars at the best of times, depending on how you drive obviously Mate u must have a nice pay poke if you can afford £583.04 a month for fuel. I knew they were thirsty but holy moly. I even checked ther were no holes in the tank
Richie Cross Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 I feel your pain mate. I think I've also had the 'is there a hole in my tank' feeling!!! I might get an average of 250 miles to a tank and can spend £200-£300 on fuel a month
G.Mac Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 (edited) Yea I know how you feel, I once spent over £300 in a weekend in fuel when V power was still about 85p per liter(what a weekend!!!! ) and am now in the process of making it even less efficient I now have a diesel DisAstra Van as my daily runner though Graeme Edited April 18, 2010 by G.Mac
StrikE Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 I even checked ther were no holes in the tank lol there is a big hole in the tank & it costs £1.29 per litre for the pleasure of filling it up Doesn't help with the fuel prices tho Has the car been mapped?
Beith Team Posted April 18, 2010 Author Posted April 18, 2010 lol there is a big hole in the tank & it costs £1.29 per litre for the pleasure of filling it up Doesn't help with the fuel prices tho Has the car been mapped? Dont think so. Its on my to do list. I'll get colin greer to check it when its gettin the timing belt done. Do you think shell will let us do a group by at a discount. lol
StrikE Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Do you think shell will let us do a group by at a discount. lol Now that is class, i promise if you can get a group buy on V Power petrol for under a £1 i will fill your tank. lol that was good
tomwrx08 Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 yip there dam thirsty motors but hey ho u only live once, i get around 200ish around town or 300 ish on motorway ,
wrxmania Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 (edited) I use mine daily for everything - it will rack up at least 15k a year...so that's quite a lot in fuel - on the plus side the reliability offsets the fuel costs. Not massively worse than many other cars really if driven normally... Brian Edited April 18, 2010 by WRXMANIA
05WRX Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 I budget at least £240 per month on fuel and i use every penny. My scoob is my daily runner.
terzo neil Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 i dont worry about fuel as got 2 of the buggers to fill
4Hero Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 I was about 250 a month with the sti, the new car isn't much better (and it's only 2wd )
x444wrx Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 I thought I was doing really well today I manged 146 miles for just over half a tank to knockhill!!! NO PAIN NO GAIN who cares about the cash I like to burn mine on fuel, others like to pi*s it up a wall at the weekend, others on holidays, but i'll tell you something none of the other cash costing activities put a grin on yer face like driving a scooby..........you'll regret it if you sell it bud
Midnight21 Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 i dont worry about fuel as got 2 of the buggers to fill Me too and drive the one which has the most fuel at the time
scooby222 Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 the last year i ran an impreza as my daily driver i did 25k miles plus and i worked out it cost me over £7500 in fuel..... or more than half my wages which is why its a weekend car now,and this weekend it cost me about 40 quid to go from perth to edinburgh, round the town and back to perth... but on the plus side i did get to own a new focus rs,makes it all worthwhile lol and to be honest driven hard my 306 rallye isnt much better on fuel- performance or economy you pays your money....
Beith Team Posted April 19, 2010 Author Posted April 19, 2010 do you have a 54 plate black STI ? No mate, but a know the one. Mine is a white type r ver 4.

Keeping scooby. My mates are not going to know what to do at weekends without the party monster.
Big Gordon Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 I fill mine every 6 days, but i knew it would be thirsty and i don't mind. Of both my cars the Scoob is by far the most economical one
rig-pig Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 welcome to the club the shell V-power club iv got 2, glad the wife's wagon is just a sport, but its pants on fuel too but it doesn't need v power like mine 200 mile's to a tank 250 if i drive like a OAP Mmm no chance

windy1945 Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 since my multi national company decided to take all our vans away, i have had to use the impreza for work and on a good week i spend about £100 on shells finest, I get some of that back but still not good but that's life
