Mods Where Is My For Sale Advert?

Recommended Posts

Posted up things for sale yesterday ( yes they were on behalf of a non member ) but the for sale thread is no longer there. I have been on here for over 5 years and the guy is a trust worthy work mate, i wouldnt put stuff up for sale if i thought the folk on here were going to get ripped off.

So where is the advert and why did i not even get at least an email to explain?

Would imagine that if it's been deleted it would be because it was on behalf of a third party. Whether you know them to be trustworthy or otherwise it's irrelevant, the rules are the rules and it's only in the interest of members such as yourself that they're applied consistently across the board. We couldn't realistically have one set of rules for more established members and another for people who have been about for say, 18 months and only recently passed the 50 post minimum.

http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?act=boardrules <--I'm on my mobile so can't switch between pages all that easily to paste the exact quote but it's all outlined in the forum guidelines.

First up, sorry for the lack of PM, I was interrupted by work before I had chance to contact you, this is the fist chance I've had to write anything to explain, so apologies for my real life interrupting!

As Stu pointed out above, selling on behalf of third parties is not permitted! Its written clearly in the forum regulations as Stu mentioned above:

This Forum is a service provided for Registered SIDC Members only, and should not be used to offer goods on behalf of a third party. Any such threads will be deleted.

This rule replies to everyone, regardless of how long you've been a member and would also be enforced on moderators and admin alike. The for sale rules were introduced on request of the forum as a whole in an attempt to combat problem sellers and so far are working very well. I'm sure you can understand why the rules are there and that the moderator team cannot start making exceptions here and there; where exactly should we draw the line? The simple answer is there is no line to be drawn, we enforce the rules and make no exceptions!

Alastair.

Are these the bits you said you'd just bought but due to unforseen circumstances, needed to sell again mate... shame... but hey, at least as a member you'll be able to sell them here. ;):)

Cheers,

Grant

mods must have been busy lately Bobby as there have been a good few "third party"/ "selling on behalf of a mate" threads that have 'slipped through the net',including cars,a red classic wagon Gus the bus was 'selling on behalf of a mate' springs to mind(no offence Gus,just using it as an example).......still rules is rules as they say.
