marko72 Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 I have done a search and found quite a few people who have godspeed brakes. Some may have noticed a current deal for grooved discs and kevlar pads which seems good. I have seen some folk getting this so was wanting to know who has had them fitted and really how better they are over standard. I am currently standard at the moment but want to upgrade. I really dont feel that confident in the standard brakes. I had thought about grooved discs with kevlar pads for the rear and DS2500 for the front and again anyone using this setup or similar your input is desired. Are the DS2500 pads going to make much difference than kevlar pads?? Thanks and have a lovely snowy day
C_WRX Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Godspeed grooved discs and DS2500 for the front - can tell you after today how they are...well as long as it isn't snowy for the next 2 weeks !! There are cheaper choices for the pads in between the kevlar and DS2500's that may be worth considering. Call Ian and he'll talk you through them I'm sure.

W88CHY Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 I got the deal BOB'5 was doing, excellent brakes so far (Brake Tech discs with Kevlar pads). Just bedded in, very worthwhile upgrade.....
scooby222 Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 so far my godspeed discs seem to be ok,havent had a chance to give them some real abuse yet though fitted ds2500's with them and not amazed by them to be honest,so far for day to day driving i got better feel from the mintex 1144's i had on before which were half the price!! maybe the 2500's will come good with a bit more heat in them, time and dry roads will tell!
Richie Cross Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I've recently had the Godspeed 330mm front conversion with DS2500 pads fitted and I've not been really blown away by them. Before that I just had the standard discs with DS2500 pads and they worked fine to be honest. I don't track the car and don't really leave my braking til the last moment either but just fancied bigger brakes and liked the look of bigger discs. I was going to go for the K Sport set up which also have 330mm discs but with the 8 pot calipers but didn't think I could justify spending the extra £250 or so. £575 for the Godspeed set up and maybe it's just because I was expecting them to be so much better over standard that I feel that I shouldn't have bothered. Maybe the standard discs with uprated pads are better than I imagined. I always felt that standard isn't the best etc. Maybe I expected them to be so much better because of the cost when really that's just par for the course? So...the are ok but thinking back, I think I might've just added the extra for the K Sports onto the good old credit card. Oh.....one of my discs turned out to be 0.4mm too think so I had to get it skimmed. E-mailed Ian Godney to tell him but never got a reply which was a bit annoying.
