Heater Matrix Removal

If I remove the complete heater matrix unit from a car does the flow and return water pipes

from the engine need to be connected to retain water flow or can they be individually squeezed off.

Probably a stupid question but I have no engine knowledge at all.

Will clamp them as thats easier

If it's permanent then link them, closer to their origin at the engine side, you don't want air trapped in the pipes though I suspect it wouldn't do any harm. Follow the pipes that are there, you'll probably be able to use them to complete the join up!
