CJE Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 One for the locals. The lacquer is peeling on one of my doors and I was looking for a local (Aberdeen / Aberdeenshire) paintshop that someone could recommend. The paint looks fine, so I'm wondering if this is just a light rub down and re-lacquer, or does it end up being a full respray. Cheers, Corrie

Jon B Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 it depends how bad the damage is mate..... in some cases you can get away with rubbing down and re applying lacquer......its all to do with the prep work....
CJE Posted January 24, 2010 Author Posted January 24, 2010 it depends how bad the damage is mate..... in some cases you can get away with rubbing down and re applying lacquer......its all to do with the prep work.... Kinghorn say both doors and the front wing, just to make sure it matches. Will be sitting down when the quote comes through.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Try this fella Stuart Scott (Paint Technik) : 07801301700 or 01224 899920 I have used them 3 or 4 times. They live near me and are very reasonably priced. Based near the Audi Garage in Aberdeen Cal

thefastone Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Pain, I've just found a whole BUNCH of lacquer peeling, all over the car... I fear that I may be heading for a full respray, whether I like it or not... This really sucks the big one...
CJE Posted February 7, 2010 Author Posted February 7, 2010 Car booked into Paint Technic for next week. Chap was really friendly and an ex-scooby owner too. Will let you all know how I get on. Cheers Corrie
thewifescar Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 was there ever an update on the quality of work by Paint Technic? reason I ask is they're running a groupon for wheel refurb http://www.groupon.co.uk/deals/aberdeen/paint-technic/3131778
CJE Posted February 6, 2012 Author Posted February 6, 2012 Hi To be honest, I dont think I'd go back. I ended up not being happy with the spray and went to North East Autobody to get it done again. I dont think the prep was that great, so the finish wasnt as good as it could have been. Also, the guys attitude didnt help when I went back to complain. Cheers Corrie
