Paint Lacquer Repair - Aberdeen

One for the locals.

The lacquer is peeling on one of my doors and I was looking for a local (Aberdeen / Aberdeenshire) paintshop that someone could recommend. The paint looks fine, so I'm wondering if this is just a light rub down and re-lacquer, or does it end up being a full respray.

hi have similar on my quarters but been told by few painters need proper paint not just laquer! good body shop on ashley lane just of ashley road! guy called warren dunbar think his shops called north east autobody! also out in banchory kirton autobody is who i use!

Thay charge top dollar but the results are top quality

kinghorns paint was ok but dont let them use spanners on your car the set our car on completely wrong geometry and said its was near enough NOT!!!!

it depends how bad the damage is mate..... in some cases you can get away with rubbing down and re applying lacquer......its all to do with the prep work....

Kinghorn say both doors and the front wing, just to make sure it matches. Will be sitting down when the quote comes through.

Good shout, my mate got both rear quarters on his P1 done and the results were amazing

Pain, I've just found a whole BUNCH of lacquer peeling, all over the car...

I fear that I may be heading for a full respray, whether I like it or not... This really sucks the big one...

Car booked into Paint Technic for next week. Chap was really friendly and an ex-scooby owner too. Will let you all know how I get on.

To be honest, I dont think I'd go back.

I ended up not being happy with the spray and went to North East Autobody to get it done again. I dont think the prep was that great, so the finish wasnt as good as it could have been. Also, the guys attitude didnt help when I went back to complain.
