Scottynic Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Hi long time reader but first time poster. I have a wee problem, when I am cruising and put my foot down I get a hesitation almost like kangaroo petrol (like you dad used to do when you were a kid LOL) This happens between 2.5k and 3.5k rpm. After this the power is spot on. I am trying to figure out what is causing it but my knowlege is not great. Also get a little pop when letting off. We recently fitted a turbosmart supersonic to the car, is this just not set up properly and need tightened up? Any help greatly appreciated.
Jon B Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 (edited) i've got a similar problem could be few things.... could be the dump valve. could be wastegate creep. or dirty/clogged boost control solenoid/problem with piping from said solenoid.. just out of curiosity..did it start playin up immediately after the dump valve was fitted??? if so i'd blame that Edited January 8, 2010 by Jon B
StewartyBoy Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Kangaroo and hesitation should really be treated as 2 different things. Failed coil packs or MAF would cause hesitation, kangarooing will be more likely dump valve or waste gate.
notsosmall Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Firstly check the dump valve is installed and set up correctly, I have the same one and its a good bit of kit If you don't have the instructions for it you can get them here:- Turbosmart Fitting Instructions
Scottynic Posted January 8, 2010 Author Posted January 8, 2010 cheers guys, think it is dump valve as dont re-call it before. I have tried to set it up. I have turned it approx 1 turn from where it was set originally by AWD. Does anyone know how many turn you can turn it?
C_WRX Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Have no idea what could be wrong with your car, but welcome.

Just don't turn it any further back (soft) than the mark Mine is set a few turns in hard direction from the mark Edited January 8, 2010 by notsosmall
