Unequal Length Headers On 2.5 Wrx?

The 2.5's (hawkeyes), even with a decent exhaust, never quite sound the same as a 2.0.

Andy at AWD had mentioned the headers, with the 2.5's having equal length (same as JDM's), fitment is just the same for 2.0's so should be able to source a decent set of unequal length headers to get the proper "burble" B) back. I dont mind sacrificing a few bhp for the right noise too. Its not always about power.....just most of the time!!

Has anyone every tried this as just wanted to check results before spending more pennies.

You can add torque and horse here and get the burble because theyre unequal

Mmm, I always thought the equal ones gave more power and torque, hence why subaru progressed and put them on the 2.5's and JDM's.

If they do give more ponies, definetly going for them, is "Harvey" a trader or was it a one off sale?

I'm certain that the 2.5's have unequal length headers, only the Twin Scroll JDM's have equal length.

Yup, I'm very sure the 2.5 have unequal as standard too. Just fling some ported OE headers on there, unless you're going for serious power then thats all you'll probably need.

Ah well, getting easier and cheaper by the minute then to get the proper burble, think il give Harvey a quick email see what hes got.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in and asking a question....

Porting Headers - what will it do exactly and roughly how much power would you expect from it ?

Am I right in thinking you can also do same/similar to turbo ??
