Smiler AS Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 (edited) The 2.5's (hawkeyes), even with a decent exhaust, never quite sound the same as a 2.0. Andy at AWD had mentioned the headers, with the 2.5's having equal length (same as JDM's), fitment is just the same for 2.0's so should be able to source a decent set of unequal length headers to get the proper "burble" back. I dont mind sacrificing a few bhp for the right noise too. Its not always about power.....just most of the time!! Has anyone every tried this as just wanted to check results before spending more pennies. Edited September 24, 2009 by Smiler AS
cullenmin Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 I got the GT Spec II headers from harvey off scoobynet. They came wrapped in DEI. You can add torque and horse here and get the burble because theyre unequal Rich
Smiler AS Posted September 24, 2009 Author Posted September 24, 2009 You can add torque and horse here and get the burble because theyre unequal Mmm, I always thought the equal ones gave more power and torque, hence why subaru progressed and put them on the 2.5's and JDM's. If they do give more ponies, definetly going for them, is "Harvey" a trader or was it a one off sale?
cullenmin Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 http://www.geocities.com/harveysmith3000/ this is the guy, i think he is a trader on snet
C_WRX Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Think it is this Harvey : http://www.geocities.com/harveysmith3000/ Got my wrapped decat up-pipe from him, he was good to deal with and gave a very informative email explanation to the questions I asked.
P1_Paul Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 (edited) I'm certain that the 2.5's have unequal length headers, only the Twin Scroll JDM's have equal length. Edited September 24, 2009 by P1_Paul

RS Grant Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Yup, I'm very sure the 2.5 have unequal as standard too. Just fling some ported OE headers on there, unless you're going for serious power then thats all you'll probably need. Cheers, Grant

C_WRX Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Hope you don't mind me jumping in and asking a question.... Porting Headers - what will it do exactly and roughly how much power would you expect from it ? Am I right in thinking you can also do same/similar to turbo ??
