scoobzie Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 That white type R looks a lovely car. Even standard and remapped will be a quick car. Wheels, coilovers and Recaro's are a big bonus! Didnt Fee and Adam get there Type R from that place. Perhaps message them to find out if they knock some money off the askng price. I would swap the P1 for that car. I WILL GIVE YOU MY NEWAGE V7 STI FOR YOUR P1 STRAIGHT SWAP
rallyfever Posted September 26, 2009 Author Posted September 26, 2009 Hi All, Finally going to see cars this weekend, got one in Dunfermline this morning, then another couple tomorrow, the white one that is shown here and another that's a 4-door Type RA. Fingers crossed I come back with something. The one in Dunfermline looks good - but it's no a very good photo!!! It's an RA with a front mounted intercooler, 18"s and that about all the info I have at the moment. Wish me luck. Gary

rallyfever Posted September 28, 2009 Author Posted September 28, 2009 (edited) Hi All, Just had a call from Jap Performance stating that although the map on the White Type R has not been changed it already runs on Shell V-Power. Does that seem OK to go ahead and buy it on that basis??? Cheers Gary Edited September 28, 2009 by rallyfever
rallyfever Posted September 28, 2009 Author Posted September 28, 2009 Hi All, You will all be glad to know we can all rest - me especially!!! I paid a deposit on the White Type R from Jap Performance this morning. Car should be ready to pick up by the weekend. I will post some pics up when I get it back home - cannae wait to be behind the wheel of a Scoob again full-time. It's been 6 long months since my last fix - 6 long................long.................... long months!!! 1st time in 10 years without a Scoob was no fun I can tell you. Advice to anyone wanting to sell their car for something more sensible - DON'T!!!! You will only want another in no time at all and WILL take as long as I have to find a good replacement. Cheers for all your help lads and lasses - very very much appreciated. Gary

tommo9375 Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 If your weren't happy with the car then garage should return your deposit unless they gave you something in writing stating 'non refundable deposits' Have you contact citizens advice? The garage is way out of order !!!
rallyfever Posted October 7, 2009 Author Posted October 7, 2009 If your weren't happy with the car then garage should return your deposit unless they gave you something in writing stating 'non refundable deposits' Have you contact citizens advice? The garage is way out of order !!! To be honest fella I was at the end of my tether with them, I may seek some advice - but will probably just put it down to a learning curve. The guy made up this excuse that he could have sold it for the full price a few times over - which was b******s as he has had it advertised for ages with no buyers, even after I put the deposit down he still had it as available on his website. Cheers Gary
dan_jess Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Thats crap, nevermind, another car will pop up, anything else caught your eye?
cullenmin Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Jesus, what a waste of a day, I also think the garage is out of line. What was the noise? I have loads of receipts over the years for rear wheel bearings so it may have been one of them. Type R's have the larger size 70mm wheel bearings rather than the normal 65mm. Only other thing at the back is the diff Keep looking mate, one will pop up, don't give up Rich
