GalaGogsie Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Hi Have managed to source a gearbox for my W plate Wagon but the code is different although the final drive ratios are the same. Can anyone confirm that a ty752vn3ba will fit in place of a ty754vn1aa as i am going out to but it today if it fits. Cheers

Don't see what will be different if its from around the same age and spec and ratios are the same ? Steve
GalaGogsie Posted August 7, 2009 Author Posted August 7, 2009 (edited) Thomsons have one mate but, ratios are all the same but the only difference is that there are four bolts to the bellhousing in the one that they have and mine has 8 bolts being a newer box(i've heard that they fit). Just want to make sure before i buy it! Was gonna have the rebuild done but im hoping to get a newer sti at the end of the year and want to try and save a bit of cash. Incidently were you the white flash that overtook me on the straight past stow last saturday Edited August 7, 2009 by GalaGogsie

If you get a box from thompsons they sould take it back if it doesn't fit. I thought they were all 4 bolts but the guys in there r pretty good and someone should know for sure. Motor looks good btw, my first scoob was a blue W reg wagon and thats what got me started

I started off with a t reg wagon as well with Prodrive ECU, Back box etc then got my BMW but i missed the Scooby that much i had to get another. That looked a quick scooby you have there! You notice a big difference with the front mount? Im looking for a newer STI next year so im just keeping the wagon ticking over until then, its a nice motor and the leather interior is pretty good too

Fmic helps but i think its the andy forrest 20g that gives it the extra big kick along with a map from himself of course, wasn't going mad on the twistys as i'd just fitted new pads and want to bed em in a bit before the morn @ knockhill. If you no planning major mods i wudnae worry about the box mines is still standard STi with 380 bhp running through it !
