New Gearbox

Hello,

Looking for some help on behalf of my dad. He has a '96 import wrx wagon, which has unfortunately just lost 3rd gear.

He is looking to replace the box, but was wondering about longer gearing to improve fuel economy.

Anyone got advice about whether you can out newage/uk boxes in to an import, and any good places to source decent second hand ones?
